Earlier this week, on September 28, in Brighton, England, Rob’s friend and tourmate, Darrell Bath, passed away. Rob shared this tribute on his personal Facebook page: "Like many of you, I heard the sad news about our dear pal, Darrell Bath – a songwriter, guitar player, and vocalist with awesome style and grit. Darrell was a true rock 'n' roller, and his presence in the music world will be missed by many. I had the honor of meeting Darrell's loyal fans and friends on tour, and of course, my heart goes out to each and every one of you. But I'm especially heartbroken for Darrell's longtime lady and business partner, Svenja Hiltrop. Rest In Peace, bruv – we're gonna miss you."
Darrell Bath was a cherished and respected musician with an impressive resume, having played with Ian Hunter, UK Subs, and The Vibrators, in addition to his own widely beloved band, The Crybabys. Darrell and Rob toured England, Germany, and Sweden together in 2018 and 2019. The tours were enthusiastically covered by the press, and Rob shared fond memories of the second tour with The Rockpit, which you can read at the link below. Rest in Peace to the great Darrell Bath.

Check out this excerpt from a new article where Rob Carlyle talks about The Compulsions' brand-new video for 'Band of Thieves':
"The track, 'Band Of Thieves,' and the video were both influenced by the Road Warrior films, as Rob explained to Australia's The Rockpit in his track-by-track breakdown of Ferocious:
'For "Band Of Thieves," I deliberately kept the lyrics kind of vague, so you can't tell if I'm singing about a marauding motorcycle gang or a rock 'n' roll band. "Band Of Thieves" is inspired by the soundtrack to Mad Max: Fury Road by Junkie XL. It's funny because there's the monster double-neck guitar player in Fury Road, and this song features Bumblefoot on monster double-neck guitar!'"

"If you're expecting a straight-up group of Guns N' Roses soundalikes here then you might just have another think coming. With an impressive pedigree backing band (including former Bowie guitarist, Earl Slick, on a few numbers), Ferocious is certainly an interesting proposition.
Opener 'Born On A Landfill' is a Cinderella-style slice of grubby blues-rock but just when you've got The Compulsions pegged, they promptly smack you upside the head with the sinister electro-sleaze of 'Band Of Thieves' (which reminds me of short-lived early noughties types, The Beautiful Creatures) before 'Addicted' takes things back into more familiar territory with some seasick slide guitar from former Gunners man, Bumblefoot.
Covers of The Rolling Stones' 'Dead Flowers' and GN'R's 'Dust N' Bones' are handled well, the former given a liberal dose of rocket fuel and the latter given an almost trip-hop style makeover which works better than it really should. Elsewhere the content varies from the scuzzy Dead Boys-assault of 'Dirtbag Blues' through the enjoyably sloppy honky-tonk of 'Killer In The Woodshed' to the twisting 'Funk #666' – which is the sort of song Buckcherry wish they could still write – while the closing countrified lament of 'Man With No Name' adds a bit of vulnerability to the more macho stylings elsewhere.
With the necessary bad-ass swagger and unexpected variety… sleaze-rockers looking for something good to get their teeth into could do a lot worse than give this a spin."

The new Compulsions album, Ferocious, earns a rare "10 out of 10" in a recent review from England's Powerplay rock and metal magazine! Here's an excerpt: "Carlyle had the likes of Richard Fortus, Sami Yaffa and Frank Ferrer in The Compulsions, but this time around he has enlisted Earl Slick and Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal. In addition, we get Alec Morton on bass from the legendary Raging Slab and former New York Dolls drummer, Brian Delaney. But, I have to say that The Compulsions are all about the genius of Carlyle."
